We are pleased to share this paper intended to provide information and advice on preparing secondary trainees for the issues surrounding transition from Y6 to Y7. It is divided into 3 parts: part 1 details the background to transition, part 2 deals with the key issues surrounding transition and part 3 suggests a focus for the observation period in primary school and looks at the next steps for effective transition. (Applies to Q25b and Q19 of the Standards for QTS.)
